Manchester is becoming one of the best places for people to shop - with only Oxford Street in London surpassing them in retail revenue. In 2014, Manchester's shops raked in £910m in retail revenue, and since then this figure has remained. Following this astonishing spending boom, we've compiled a list of 10 shops and eateries you need to visit in Manchester! 

Diamond Heaven

We've just opened our third store in the beautiful city of Manchester, and a lot of thought went into the location. Dripping in history, the Royal Exchange Arcade is now home to all things sparkly. After the Royal Exchange's £1m refurbishment, we found that this luxury city centre venue was the perfect place to open our new store. We aim to stand out against the other jewellers in the city steeped with culture and vibrancy,  So, if you're in the area pop in and say hello!

Afflecks

Formerly known as Affleck's Palace, Afflecks showcases all things eccentric and eclectic. Based in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, Afflecks is an emporium of independent boutiques and stores. From tattoos and piercings to handmade soaps, you'll find the obscure.  Afflecks has a wide range of shops, from Panic Posters selling a range of posters, to Milner & Webb boasting a selection of vintage clothes and gadgets.

Ferrious Ltd

If you're looking for some home design inspo, then Ferrious is the perfect place for you.  This independant interior design and lighting store combines the exotic with contemporary in order to create a beautiful kitchen or bedroom of your dreams. Found on Whitworth Street West, it is the perfect place to go and seek kitchen inspiration, or even pick up some finishing touches such as lighting or glassware.

Crazy Pedro's Part-time Pizza Parlour

If there's one thing everyone needs more of (aside from diamonds) it is pizza and frozen margaritas. Crazy Pedro's ‘part-time' Pizza Parlour first opened its doors in Bridge Street as a pop and has been in Manchester city centre ever since.  From a frozen Tikila Colada to a fried chicken and waffle pizza, you won't ever want to leave. Just remember to save some for us!

Elliemagpie

If you need a place where Pinterest meets real life, then welcome to Elliemagpie. This unique store is a magical place where shabby meets country vintage, and quite frankly we want everything it sells. Selling repurposed and hand-made furniture, you can pick up homeware, haberdashery and bespoke gifts for your loved ones. Pop into this independent store on Bury New Road in Prestwich - but be prepared for severe home envy!

Eastern Bloc Records

Eastern Bloc Records is the store for ‘true vinyl purists'. Specialising in techno, drum & bass and so much more, you'll find a range of genres across the spectrum. This unique record shop was first established in 1985, and began trading in Affleck's Palace. In 2011, they upped their ever growing record collection and moved to Stevenson Square in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, where they continue to provide some incredible vinyl records.

Moose Coffee

Moose Coffee is an independent coffee house, bringing American breakfast culture to Manchester. Located on York Street, Moose Coffee was once one of Manchester's best kept secrets. Whether you're looking for some brunch or some eggs and bacon worthy of a hangover cure,  you won't be disappointed.   

Junk

Junk is Manchester's answer for fun, fresh thinking and affordable clothing, accessories and art work. This unique boutique upcycles anything and everything, creating something unusual - you certainly won't find it anywhere else!  Initially forging its space as a Market stall, Junk opened their first store in West Didsbury. Two years ago they opened their Manchester store in the Northern Quarter on Dale Street. So what are you waiting for? Get your hands on somebody else's junk!

Magma

Magma is a book shop with a twist. Selling a collection of magazines, design journals, stationery and so much more, it is a shop that will cater to anyone obsessed with design and literature. If you're very hard to please design minded person then this place is perfect for you.   Magma's first flagship store initially opened in Covent Garden, London, and after paving its way in the creative design industry, they opened their Manchester store on Oldham Street.

The French

The French by Simon Rogan is fine dining at its best. If you're visiting Manchester for a treat, then reserve a table at this restaurant. Ran by two-Michelin starred chef, Simon Rogan who achieved his stars at his flagship Cumbrian restaurant, you will have an experience like no other. Choose from six to ten courses. But don't forget to go on an empty stomach - after all, there's a lot of delicious food. The French is found in The Midland Hotel on Peter Street.
